The roof tiles have the same visual appearance as a slate roof, only made of tempered glass with built-in solar cells. Tempered glass is incredibly durable, and significantly stronger than normal roof tiles. There is a full 40-year warranty on the roof as a climate screen, with an expected lifespan of the roof’s functions of +80 years. This has been tested by the Danish Technological Institute. In addition, a performance guarantee on the solar cells: After 25 years, the solar cells produce +80% compared to day 1.
You can install your Solartag yourself. Or put it together with your friends. Or give the task to your favorite carpenter. Or let us help you via the contractors we work with. You decide.
The roof plates are available both with and without built-in solar cells. This ensures that the roof can be designed with exactly the Watt-peak (solar cell performance) that makes sense for the property’s consumption. There is minimal visual difference between a roof plate with or without solar cells. The active roof plates are easily and invisibly connected on the back towards the roof and then to an inverter that converts the direct voltage from the plates into alternating current for the property.
