An icon in Varde's cityscape

The Church House in Varde is located in a straight line to the beautiful old church of St. Jacobi Church. The house is a common workplace for church functions and a new meeting place for the citizens of the parish. Architects and engineers have prepared an energy account and have created the energy balance that modern buildings should have. However, the area’s local plan made it impossible to use ordinary solar cell systems on the originally planned steel roof.

During the design process, Solartag came on the table as a proposal for energy optimization for the large new building. At the same time, the glare problem was solved, because Solartag is a matte roof material without annoying reflections for neighbors. The parish council’s steering committee went out to look at other houses with Solartag, and it was clear that the tempered glass panels could handle the task in terms of energy optimization.

Beautiful lines

Solartag consists of several components, where both active, inactive panels and cut-to-size panels allow the roof to be designed for the asymmetric design and the expected energy consumption.

Solartag is proud to have been chosen as the roofing material supplier for this beautiful house with tight lines and discreet details. The project was delivered in February 2024.
