The new Health Center on Hans Kirks Vej, which houses the Center for Diabetes and Heart Diseases and the Center for Child and Adolescent Health, was built with green ambitions and Solartag’s roof solution is an integral part of these thoughts. The center and the surrounding urban space were designed and planned by Dorte Mandrup A/S as architect and general consultant. The architecture and design of the building, both in the interior design of the building and in the outdoor space, invite physical activity and are therefore consciously targeted at the needs of the users.
The building is located in De Gamles By with an architecture that supports physical activity and movement, social community and learning about forms of exercise and a healthy lifestyle. Solartag was chosen for the project because it blends nicely into the geometry of the building, where the facade and roof material are black/brown ALU sheets, where Solartag matches perfectly, says Senior Architect Christine Fuglsang-Jacobsen from Dorte Mandrup A/S.
When the Solar Roof, after a short period, has caught up
its CO2 footprint, it contributes positively to the green
transition. Project Manager Lisa Jørgensen from Construction
Copenhagen, Copenhagen Municipality says that the use of the roof surfaces for solar cells was planned from the start, in accordance with the government’s Climate Agreement.
The Solar Roof’s stylish tempered glass panels with hidden,
integrated solar cells were a harmonious match for the building’s sloping surfaces and steel-inspired design. The surrounding neighboring properties benefit from the fact that there is no annoying glare in the matte Solar Roof panels.
