A landmark is updated from A to Z

“The old waterworks is a building worthy of preservation, which has been renovated for the purpose of holding conferences and events. When it was necessary to decide what type of roof the 4 large roof surfaces should have, we obtained two offers. The first offer was a traditional eternit slate roof for 2.5 million DKK. The second offer was from Solartag for 2.0 million DKK. Since we could also see the advantage of producing our own electricity, it was quite natural that we chose the Solartag solution. The Solartag also has the advantage that it contributes to the green transition and pays for itself over time.

We have chosen to design the roof with so many active solar cells that it will be able to provide 20.000 Wp. We have not purchased a battery, as the building’s activities are primarily carried out during the day, when the roof produces the electricity we need.”

Aesthetics are important

“When we chose Solartag with the invisible solar cells, it was also an aesthetic decision. The look of the roof fits nicely with the old building, and it is also an added bonus for the residents of the area that they are not blinded by shiny, reflective panels.”
